Accommodation
dedicated accommodation services teamAt Ledra, we recognize that housing and living quality is an important factor for students’ life. Our dedicated accommodation services team is ready to welcome you to your new home with placements for all budgets and needs.
We know that you need a place to live where you will feel welcome and cozy essentially meaning you need a sense of comfort and familiarity. At Ledra you’ll be spoilt for choice as we collaborate closely with the local real estate organizations securing the best for our students before others. We choose rooms very close to our campuses or if you choose something further we make sure that you will have good transport facilities all day long to ensure you hassle free transportation.
The majority of our recommended accommodation includes Broadband and utility bills, but there are also other choices. Whilst choosing your accommodation we recommend to keep in mind these details:
Students can choose from a great range of accommodation options, including renting an affordable private apartment or house in close vicinity to the College.
Our office provides useful information regarding lease agreements. It can also arrange for temporary student accommodation at special rates, offer roommate and other useful services such as airport pickup and transportation.
PLEASE NOTE: The College accepts lists of accommodation options from landlords for the convenience of its students. The College does not however inspect or check any of the accommodation listed in any way and takes no responsibility for the condition of any premises listed or for the actions of any landlord who uses the space to advertise their accommodation.
Therefore we advise you to:
- Not sign any contracts for accommodation without first inspecting the property
- Not ask friends to secure accommodation before you arrive.
- Not pay deposits or send money before physically viewing a property.
- Not pay money to someone you do not know.
Location
Try to book a room in an accommodation that is nearby as if you are one of those people where every minute counts in the morning, you’ll want to be able to get to class quickly and be in on time. You should ideally be out of bed and at the college in under 10 minutes. This can be a blessing especially in the colder or hotter months if you have a long walk to class.
You might also want to consider booking an accommodation which has a supermarket, minimarket or bakery nearby so that you could go any time to stock up on food or get a quick snack while you are working on an essay.
If you are a fitness freak or play a lot of sports, you might consider booking a room closer to a gym.
Budget
As students we tend to live on tight budgets and depending on a number of factors such as location and facilities some accommodation is cheaper than others. So do your research to find what you are looking for at the best price.
Pay attention to the number of weeks your accommodation contract lasts for. Some contracts are for a longer number of weeks and hence you will have to pay more even after college shuts for summer break so look for shorter contracts if these work better for you.
